‘Light in the Dark’ starring Rita Dominic is coming to Netflix

Ekene Som Mekwunye’s poignant drama, Light in the Dark, is coming to Netflix.

The film stars Rita Dominic and Kalu Ikeagwu as Jumoke and Emeka, a couple seeking light in the darkest times of their marriage. The couple triumphed tribalism to get married, and their union, blessed with a beautiful child, has been a joyful one. But one night, their happiness is stolen by a devastating encounter.

A terrifying home invasion shatters a couple’s happy family life and brings their marriage to the brink as painful fallout unfolds.

Light in the Dark, written by Babatunde Ojo, weaves tribalism and the power of love into a traumatic story, and Muhammad Atta’s lens delicately captures the gloominess. The movie features strong performances from its lead and supporting characters – Dominic and child actor Angel Onyi Unigwe, who played the couple’s daughter, were nominated for their performances by the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA).

Light in the Dark stars Joke Silva, Saidi Balogun, Ngozi Nwosu, Emmanuel ‘Mannie’ Essien, and Kiki Omeili. The film comes to Netflix on May 18, 2020.
